How to Give Feedback like a Pro

Your feedback at each stage is crucial to us nailing your branding. But how do you give feedback?

Here are some pointers to help you give feedback that will make us smile and, vitally, keep the momentum in your project with us:

  • Feedback is all contained in one place

It's all sent in one go rather than drip fed, we also prefer it sent via email or as a word document attachment to an email

  • You let us know which route you choose

You're welcome to give us your thoughts/feedback on everything we share with you, but what's most critical is getting your direction on which of the routes we have shared you would like to proceed with. So, if we have shared 3 routes and you’re most drawn to the second route but have some requests, you should let us know that your choice of design is route 2, and then send us your requests for this route.

  • Specificity is really helpful!

If a route isn't quite there, instead of saying ‘something feels off’, try to push yourself to work out what your concern is, for example, saying something like “We like the colours, but we're not sold on the pattern yet because we can't envisage how it will be used” gives us valuable direction that if we can help you visualise the pattern in use for your brand, you may be happy with the designs.

Likewise, if a font or style doesn’t feel quite right, try to put it into words, for example ‘we’re concerned that the font could seem too traditional’ gives us much better direction than ‘Don’t like the font, can I see others’.

  • Put approvals in writing

Finally, it saves us wasting time and pestering you if you can make very clear when something is signed off. Saying something 'I can confirm this logo is now approved' is a huge help for us!
