Kitchen Mush

A whimsical brand to prove how fun teaching young children about food can be.

Situation

Cooking & food had long been a passion for our client, Sunuber, but it was when she became a mother that she learned about the benefits of including toddlers in everyday tasks, including cooking. She found a whole host of websites catered to parents seeking child-friendly recipes, but didn’t find any brand within the UK that was trying to appeal as much to the child, and embracing the idea of enjoying discovery and learning through cooking, and so she founded Kitchen Mush, to just that!

Moodboard

The idea of play and mess being important for child development was central to the idea, and Sunuber wanted us to create a brand that reflected this. This inspired the brand name, and the colourful & playful moodboard we created:

Logo

We wanted the branding to feel child-like, so we opted for hand-drawn typography and patterns. As always, presented three responses to the brief, all exploring a playful and fun feel.

We evolved the client’s choice (B) with new colours, and a suite of playful hand-drawn elements, including cute fruit & vegetable characters to run through the brand.
